Good day all.

I am soon to be looking at overclocking my i7 2600K, what sort of speed do you think I should be able to get out of my system, with little hassle?

Here is the specs of the system at this point in time:
Xigmatek Elysium.
860w Cooler Master Silent Pro.
Intel Core i7 2600K.
Corsair H100.
Asus Sabertooth P67 R3.
8GB (2x4Gb) CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8 XMP.
AMD Radeon HD 6900.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit.

Thanks for your time.

Best Regards.

Who knows?

You may have a good chip, an average chip or a poor chip.

4.5Ghz should be pretty easy.

Anything above that and up to 5GHz will probably need more tweaking.

You'll just have to try it and see.

well I can hit 5Ghz stable - but it needs super vcore (1.5v) which I'm not comfortable with!

4.6 is a realistic figure tbh mate.

cammy - How much vcore you using for 4.8 mate? - mine refuses to do 4.8 with less than 1.4v :(

1.4v for 4.8 I would say puts your chip in the average, though it depends on your other settings. the majority seem happy enough with 4.5-6. what speed are you aiming for?

left voltages at auto for 4.8ghz zoomee
just got a 5.4ghz clock out of it but it needed 1.76v
or so it said in the bios, anyway ive got my bench mark so i wont be going there again....

Yeah my auto gave me something as ridiculous along the lines of 103x50 @ 1.61v, safe to say I powered down pretty sharpish.

cammy, hows the sniper 2 for working with? I see its near twice the cost of my P8Z68 is it justified?

It's fantastic, super stable for overclocking with great looks and features
I just sold my xfi card on mm for £60 as this comes with built in xfi
I don't think crazy prices are justified but with my previous asrock extreme 4 gen3 I struggled to get my chip to 5.1ghz now I'm at 5.4ghz so for me it's justified...I think if I had of pumped 1.76v through most boards into my chip I wouldn't have a chip I definitely put that down go the quality of the board mate

Its good to know the price comes with its justifications. I plan on my next build (what ever replaces 1155) to shell out £250-300 on a real top end board such as the equivalent to the sniper 2.
