what kind of system to run the eyefinity bundle

budget is iffy atm depends on how things go/how many old components can be sold.

two 670's though seems mighty expensive :o

Eyefinity, if done properly, is expensive, I second two 670 4GB, or two 7970 3GB. You can start with one, mostl likely you will be gaming on single screen first, but the more VRAM the better. Else you gonna fall back to dual 7870 / 580 SLI.

looking around the interwebs a few places say a pair of 7970 3gbs are better because they have higher memory bandwidth than the 670 4gb(384 instead of 256) despite slgihtly lower over all memory. true or Bs?

Is there any major difference in support fro maMD/nvidia for multimonitors or 3d if either significantly better than the other or does either suffer from problems in multi card/multi monitor setups?

and what would you say for cpu/ram/mobo?

I gave eyefinity a try last year when bf3 came out. Was on a phenom 2 x4 with 2 6850's. Ran med settings at about 63 fps at the same res. Got board with it on the end. Gives you an idea of the minimum specs u need to run it

whyd you get bored with it ?

not to sure,

i found it great fun playing bf3 on 3 monitors but as time went on i found myslef using just the one monitor and rarly ever turning on the other 2,

plus i changed to an intel from amd and at the time couldnt afford a board that done proper crossfire. so im now just down to one 6850, and itching to upgrade to a 670

hmm normally i use my 24" benq monitor to game on but at the same time use a crappy 17" crt by the side to watch tv on at the same time (yes i have the same attention span as a...oo look a bunny!) but 3 monitors does sound good especially as my old benQ is getting ****ed up (lots of screen burn/dark patches).

I wonder if it's better just getting 2 and basically upgrading my current set up to 2 identical monitors.

Did you find any issues with ATi drivers/catalyst and multi monitors?

also has anyone tried these monitors and got anything to say about the 3d?

only had problems in the early days of bf3 with drivers, xfire and eyefinity were the worst things to have at that time.

somegames dont work too well with eyefinty, but those that do look amazing, 1st game i played with it was hawx 2, great fun

so would the 3d kit/glasses in the op work with nvidia fine or does nvidia need thier own stuff?
