Hi,

I will be living in london from september and i need tv,phone broadband.

I noticed that NTL were doing the above for £30pm so it seems like a good deal.

could anyone confirm what sort of kit comes with the deal or in general. Do they use a seperate modem and TV boxes or is it all in one. Does the modem have ethernet port or not? so I just plug it into my router.

Telewest as far as I know always provide a seperate modem and TV box. The modem will have both USB and Ethernet interfaces on it.

A friend of mine has his PC wired straight into the set-top-box, there's an Ethernet port on the back. I've always had a seperate modem too though...

I know NTL often try and get away with using the set top box as a modem - they've done it to a few of my mates before but I wouldn't have it personally.

When I lived in a Telewest area a couple of years ago they gave me a seperate STB and modem - even though the PC was only 2 metres away from the TV.

Guess it's partly down to luck then. If they try and fob you off with the STB just tell tem you're not happy with it.

What connections does the set top box have for connecting to AV equipment?

Theres nothing too swish, 2 SCART from what I remember - I'll have a look later when I can pull the telly out without my daughter having a tantrum
