Hi, i'm clueless when it comes to water cooling, but looking into a setup for my 3930k as its too noisy on air. I'd like a kit that will allow me to just cool the cpu when overclocked to around 4.6-4.8ghz and still be pretty quiet, i dont mind some fan noise but the quieter the better. I do mainly 3d rendering so long runs at 100% usage.

can anyone reccomend a kit or parts that would be good for this purpose, i dont really have a budget but willing to spend around £200.

sorry knew there was something i did mention, its an antec 300, which probably is a problem lol, but i have no issue with mounting things externally etc, apparence isnt important.

A kit with a 240 rad should provide you with excellent temps for CPU only. Check out some of the XSPC Rasa 240 Kits, or if you have a bit more cash the OCUK kits are very good.

Thanks, is there much difference between the RS and RX XSPC kits in terms of cooling performance?

the ocuk 240 kit also looks very nice although its towards the top end of my budget, I'm also thinking i will need to mount the rad externally so do these kits come with mounts? ( i dont see it listed so i presume not).

the other question i have is regarding the water, the ocuk kit comes with some, is it just 1 litre? and is that a sufficient amount, as if i go for a xspc kit i will need to buy some seperatly as it doesnt seem to come with it.

thanks for the advice!

no kits come with mounts sadly. all kits are designed to be external really.

your 300 is really your only restriction here.

either a v8 or v12 ocuk kit would be ideal but any of the 240+ ek kits would be a great choice here

Your main issue is getting the heat out of the chip. I'd look carefully into getting the best block you can for the 2011 chips.
