What Laptop is best to go for??

My Brother is after a new Laptop have have a budget of around £400

He been looking at a Dell, Toshiba and a HP. I told him to stay away from HP as I dont think they are very good are they? I told him I think Dell and Toshiba are as good as each other?

But I am a Mac user now so I am finding it hard to comment on a Windows Laptop for him he does not want to go down the Mac route too exspensive and he got software for Windows.

Can you advise me what he should get

I just got a Studio 15 (1537) off the outlet for ~470 - did have a WUXGA screen and 4gig though so could most likely pick one up cheaper, and I'm chuffed to bits with it so far. 3450 won't win any prizes but it's got the HDMI out which I wanted.

HP's are not bad laptops you know, they certainly look fantastic (the newer range), i've just bought a HP DV5 1110EM for £529 and it's very good for the price.
