hes an engineer so uses it for the cnc machines etc.

i dont know the budget exactly but probably around the £1000+/- mark give or take.

very good squiffy thats a good spec i like the big screen as me boss did say he wants to go big.

2 gig of ram is good to as cad work is demanding.
that graphic card should do well to.

was that in vat?.

Since he's an engineer I don't he'll be complaining about the weight, unlike limp wristed PC geeks :) If 20" is too big, theres this

Intel Centrino Core Duo T2300E 1.66GHz Processor
1GB DDRII-533MHz SDRAM - Low cost double memory offer – call for details!

Acer OrbiCam integrated 1.3 megapixel CMOS camera

£870.

Ask him if he'll like 17" or 20", inform him of the weight of the machine, run times etc.

If he's doing design-based work, I'd have thought he'd want a higher-resolution over a larger display. The Dell Inspiron 6400s have the option for a 1680x1050 display, and the D820s can have 1920 x 1200. They're both 15.4", a fairly decent size. Doesn't look like Dell's 17" notebook have that resolution though.

hes not to sure about what to go for.

it realy will be used for cad work and genarel engineering work.

any inputs are welcome we are at a dead end here realy dont know what to go for.

oh yeah maybe the odd gameing he said hahaha.
