What Laptop?

In a few weeks should have around 700 to spend on a lap top.

I would like it to run EVE and be able to use for Visual Express C++ and be a pretty good allround machine.

I have my desktop for hardcore gaming.

What would people recomend.

Its also going to be used by someone who has arthritis in there hands so a good fullsize keyboard is essential.

You cant go wrong with a dell vostro 1500 or even 1700 if you want a bigger layout, both offer fantastic value for money.

If you want something a bit more stylish, the XPS1530 is also superb.

Only going by what ive owned to give a personal opinion.

i was thinking of getting one before xmas but money was needed else where.

The 1530 is faster if you want to play games, but as you say thats not a major concern, the vostro 1700 would give you the bigger screen, bigger keyboard and comes in your budget, you can also have any colour you want, so long as its black

Well i doubt you'll struggle playing eve much, are you wanting the premium gfx to run on the laptop? My desktop is for hardcore EvE gaming

Thought I may aswell use the search function and bump this old thread rather than starting another.

I'm looking for a cheapo laptop for some sneaky Eve action at work. The Vostro 1500 looks good, but will the basic model do the job with it's intergrated graphics? I wasn't sure if you were recommending a Vostro 1500 that had been upgraded to his £700 budget or just the basic spec.

for £700?? you'll get a dedicated card np included for that amount. Laptop prices have come down a lot since the old days.
