Thinking about getting a new Laptop for light photo editing (I’m not a professional) watching films on the plane and holiday and light gaming. Main game I want to play again is Black Mesa, Half Life 2 and Emulation for N64 etc. use my Xbox Series X as my main gaming system. Also use it for working from home office etc and teams.
Budget no more than £900.
Preferably 15 inch or smaller rather than a 17inch monste

Maybe take a look at the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro X 14 which is currently on sale for a really cheap price (I don't think I can say what price or where due to forum rules but you should be able to find it - there is one place offering a really good discount). It is last years model so has a Ryzen 6800HS instead of the recent 7840HS. But there isn't a huge difference. It also has an RTX 3050 4gb, 32gb RAM, 1tb SSD, a 14.5" 3K IPS 120hz display, 1080p camera and a 70wh battery. The HS is the higher TDP variant of the Ryzen so battery life would be OK rather than great (the U series are best for battery life but have a lower TDP). But it will be quite powerful.

I've considered it myself but it doesn't have Thunderbolt (only newer Ryzens do) which I would like for an eGPU and there have been some reports of it draining the battery slightly faster than the 100w charger can supply when on full load. It does have USBC though for docking. I think it should fit your needs well. The RTX 3050 will be enough for light video editing and gaming although nowadays the GPU isn't that much faster than the iGPU in a slighlty newer Ryzen. It has great specs including large RAM, SSD and a 120hz 3K screen (in an unusual 14.5" size - still portable but larger screen than most 14" laptops) and It's definitely under you budget when you find it at the reduced price.

The reviews often mention a very glossy screen. But I think the version on sale has the non-touch matte screen (which I personally prefer). I can't be 100% sure on that but Lenovo's naming convention for screens is usually anti-glare for matte and anti-reflection for glossy. This one is listed as anti-glare non-touch.

Saw this very laptop at my work last week, very nice for the price. Specs are decent too.
