Other than core voltage what limits how high you can up a multiplier?

I'm currently struggling to get my 5000+ Black Edition higher than 3.1GHz @ 200 - 15.5x.
I've stuck up the core v's to 3.75 (AMD overdrive won't go any higher) and my new MSI K9A2 for some reason has volts lockd in Bios.

Could it simply be that my cpu chip can't go any higher?
My temps are awesome so that aint the problem.

Thanks for any help in advance.

The Mutliplier will have a Limit so will some Mobo/Bioses, you can at least Raise and Lower your Multi where as normally it can only be Lowered.

On an AMD the Bridges are laser cut to determine Stock Multi and Voltage etc.

And you did not set the Volts to CPU Core to 3.75v m8 :), 1.55v Max safe with Good Air Cooling, 1.6v with high end Air Cooling

Does that CPU have an unlocked multiplier?
CPU's are multiplier limited at manufacture unless it is an Engineering sample or 'unlocked' CPU.

There's no way you're running at 3.75 volts!

I'd try and find a newer/modded bios for your mobo that lets you change the vcore.

lol no sorry I meant 1.375!

Managed to up it in bios to 1.450.. unstable @ 3.2 with multiplier only as per usual.
May just stick it at 3Ghz and be done with it :/

Its a shame because I heard for some people it was really easy to get 3.4 at least off multiplier alone.
