What Linux distro would you recommend for the following system,Will be used strictly for basic internet/YouTube and that's it.

Must have good Wireless detection,as i use a Net gear USB wireless stick.

Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86Ghz
Gigabyte GA-G41M-Combo
1GB 800Mhz DDR2 (2X 512Mb sticks for Dual Channel)
250GB Seagate Barracuda 7200Rpm.
On board graphics (Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500 (DirectX 10) )

Thanks for any suggestions. :)

If you are new to Linux then Mint or Ubuntu would be a good bet.

If you are a bit more geeky then Fedora could be for you - and if you really want to get the most out of it then Gentoo or Arch Linux.

There are a lot of options in this space - distrowatch.com might help you (look at the chart thing on the right side of the homepage)

For the love of nix do not use ubuntu.

Try Debian, opensuse, fedora or Mageia

I always wonder why people say this. If you had said don't use the failure that is Ubuntu 12.10 with various terrible kernel issues and missing headers then I would agree, but 12.04 is fantastic for what most Linux users want.

Saying that - the OPs specs would run snappier on something other than Unity so I would suggest X/Lubuntu if you wanted to go with the Ubuntu family, or Debian would be a great choice with whatever DE you want.
