What make for 5070 Ti - does it matter?

Hi folks,

Planning a new build in the near future. Going to start by securing a 5070 Ti as my GPU. Availability is obviously spotty, and price is variable. How much does the manufacturer matter? (In particular, are there any manufacturers to avoid)?

Thank you - appreciated. I thought about an RX 9070 XT, but they seem a lot harder to get hold of, whereas OC currently has a Zotac version (reasonable RMA by the look of it) of the 5070 Ti for a similar price. Plus I’m very used to Nvidia (crap reason I know).

One more question whilst I’m here. I’ve been playing at 1440p for about 7-8 years, on a 1070 and a 2070. I was intending to go up to 4K, but I keep reading that 70-series Nvidia cards are most suited to 1440p? Is this really true, or only if you want to crank every single setting to the absolute max?

5070 Ti can do 4K, but it is still a premium resolution and AAA games are always going to hammer a card at native 4K, with the problem just getting worse over time. They also love giving cards just enough VRAM, like the 4070, 4070 Ti and 5070 all have 12GB, which won't be sufficient for 4k in the longer-term, similar to how the 3070 still has plenty of grunt, but is now struggling with 8GB in some games.
Thanks again. I suspect that I’ll be happy enough. I do play the odd AAA title, but I’m currently running Cyberpunk at 1440p on my old 2070, and although I can’t recall exactly what settings I have it at, it looks plenty pretty enough.
