What makes one PSU better than another if they're both 80 Plus Bronze rated?

Just wondering really, other than fan noise and available connectors what makes one PSU better than another if they're both 80 Plus Bronze rated? Why are some much cheaper than others?

Built to a price point so component quality varies.

Modular PSU's are mostly more expensive than a captive cable version.

While one PSU may have voltages that remain in spec ( remain within a certain % from the value) and "pass a test" another may have voltages that don't deviate as much. Same with ripple, one maybe fine but another may have completely flat voltage levels even at max load.

Quality of the components in general. Always read reviews of PSU's that actually check the ripple etc, and load testing, as sometimes you are paying for the mark rather than a PSU being any good.

Bare in mind, that you can design something to pass a test (the 80 plus test in this case), but the longevity/reliability/stability of the unit etc 'may' not be as good as a more expensive. As said.. read reviews before purchasing.

Ripple - instead of having a steady flat line, there are peaks and troughs in it, flatter the better.

Voltage variation - say you have a 12V line and it drops to 11V, this is outside the ATX standards for PSU's which allows ±5% on this value, which is also in part the same as too much ripple, where it rises and falls outside the set standards.
