I am doing a market research for Power distribution Unit (PDU) so I am trying to see what makes a perfect PDU.

Like what sort of size / functions / design / component / durability / warranty etc...

Any help would be appreciated!!:p

PSU?

Or mains power supply?

What I meant are below ;)

There isn't really one perfect design, it depends on the application.

For a datacentre rack PDU you'd want:
>Dual commando socket inputs
>NIC for SNMP monitoring/alerting
>Rack mount vertically to a single 'post'

For a distribution point cab you'd want:
>Dual power inputs commando sockets may be appropriate in some cases, standard plug sockets in others. This is particularly useful for when swapping out UPS and you need to maintain power to the equipment.
>NIC for SNMP monitoring/alerting
>Rack mounting horizontally (Like in your pictures)

Don't put a physical power switch on. Either have a fancy SNMP/web-enabled model with metered outlets and remote power control, or have nothing. Physical power switches are great for accidentally knocking or leaving switched off by mistake.

If it's a distribution cabinet, allow space for a couple of silly size "brick" plugs in a couple of the sockets without blocking the one next door.
