i saw on OCUK, they had these and im doing an AMD build soon and wanted to know whether performance will lack because its an AMD system? or is it all a big Marketing scheme?

What i mean is given the same speed, lower timings and lower voltage are why you would pay more.

Its mostly to do with the XMP (extended SPD tables).

in an AMD rig they would boot at 1.5v with the closest JDEC Timing set for the frequency that it defaults too.

Honestly, RAM is just RAM and even value sticks will be fine as long as they're from a good brand, like Crucial.

the only thing in ram that matters is the capacity.. I bought a pair of ballistix from crucial.

They're just glorified rubbish, with extra copper plates on them to keep them cool. The cool thing is that it has the union jack printed on it, which may help with the resell value I suppose, when I upgrade.
