I've had this box on 24/7 for a long while. Never really thought about what wattage it might really be drawing. So I checked with a powermeter. My HTPC is drawing 71watts from the wall. Spec is

Intel i5 4570T 35w dual core 2.9ghz
8gb Crucial Sport DDR3 1.35v 1600mhz
Asus MAXIMUS VI Gene z87
Corsair H100 water cooler referb
Samsung EVO 120gb SSD
3x Seagate NAS 4TB drives
Lian Li V358 case
Seasonic FANLESS 400w psu
Intel RS2SG244 raid card
2x Corsair SP120 MAX 23DbA fans
3x Corsair AF120 MAX 21DbA fans

I know its overkill for a HTPC. But I wanted something I could add a decent graphics card too later if needed.

Do any of you check your power draw on your HTPC's / NAS?

Last time I checked, my HP Microserver N54L was running around 50W with:

4x 4TB WD Reds
Samsung 840 250GB SSD
TBS 6280 DVB-T2 tuner
KWorld UB499-2T tuner
and WHS 2011.

My HP Microserver pulls around 40-50W with 3 HDD's and a HD6450 - at load. Idle is more like 20W

So at most that's roughly £4-5/month, which isn't bad :)

My Chromecast is about 2W, not enough to vaguely care about.

OP, isn't that HTPC spec just a little bit overkill?!

My Gigabyte E350N draws about 30-35w, but then it's not some watercooled, i5 monster!

Telecaster, I did put on the end of my post, its a bit overkill, but wanted something I could add a decent graphics card too in the future if needed. Most of the spec is bits from other builds. The fans, the corsair h100 etc.
