what media centre do you use?

Custom HTPC, Mythbuntu (Specialized distribution of Ubuntu+MythTV), 2 x dual freeview tuners (8 virtual tuners under MythTV), 2Tb storage.

Use my laptop (HP Compaq Mini 311c) with Media Player Classic Home Cinema, that's it. Don't need any fancy pants software to guide me to my movie, I just click the MKV!

Though I have recently started to use Splash player, seems to produce a nicer image than MPCHC.

I use XBMC on an Acer r3610 and have a self built WHS machine with 5.5tb to hold all my media shared across the network.

Custom HTPC using Windows 7 Media Centre with Dual DVB-S tuners and single DVB-T tuner plus TotalMedia Theatre integrated for Bluray and HD-DVD playback. I used http://www.hack7mc.com/2009/02/mkvs-for-minimalists-on-windows-7.html for allowing playback of everything.

Controlled by a cyberlink remote control unit copied to my harmony one, means I can control everything from the remote and no other input device is required.

Find it works so well I got rid of my sky multiroom subscription.

For those running mediabrowser what theme and additional plugins do you use?

Standard theme and MediaInfo here on my main HTPC; just started to test the Pearl theme on my test box.

I have a custom built mini-itx, built using a Zotac IONITX board and a APlus CS-160 case. Currently running XBMC Dharma 10.0 and Aeon MQ 2 2.6, all media streamed from an unraid server

I have a phillips slm5500 that I bought ages ago but still does the job.

Edit: Thinking about it the one thing that it can't do is fast forward within a movie. Can the PS3 fast forward files? I'm not talking about skipping chapters just fast forwarding.

Either ...

- Plex on the Mac accessing files on the NAS
- XMBC on the HTPC accessing either local files or ones on the NAS
- WDTV Live accessing either local files (USB) or ones on the NAS

Of the three I prefer Plex ... feels the more polished solution
