Right, my new build was all going well until I couldnt get it to post and it kept hanging on Post Code 52 Test all memory (clear all extended memory to 0).

Now the memory Im using is the following OCZ Ati and according to Abit its not on the approved memory list here.

I have tried loads of things to get it to work but have now decided to get some different ram that people are using with this motherboard that worked straight out of the box without any problems.

I was thinking of some crucial ballistix as I found a lot of people with this combination even though it is not officially approved.

I would be grateful for any help. :D

Yes I thought It would all work fine. But I might just be unlucky somehow.

I know that list is not complete as they cant test everything, but its good to know someone who has the same memory running without any problems.

I have looked on the OCZ forums and although that specific ram isnt mentioned some other people have encountered similar problems.

It would be interesting flibby to see if you have any of the problems like I did. If you dont then obviously my ram is dead or probably my motherboard. Can you let me know how it goes.

Yes I cant get into the bios at the moment, I think its due to it hanging on this error 52.

If you get it to work, then that gives me hope. I might just need to buy a cheap stick of 1.8v ram to get it to post and then change the settings in bios to 2.0 or 2.1v so my OCZ ram works fine. Although I have been told by people that there ram worked on the default 1.8v with ocz platinum so im unsure why mine doesnt work.

But yeh let me know.

I think im going to order some crucial ballistix, I dont think the pc8500 stuff will be that worthwhile to me as its not going to hold me back overclocking my q6600 and is more expensive.

Do people think it would be worth spending a bit extra for the 2x1gb 6400 kit compared to the 5300? Also has anyone had any problems with this ram with the ip35 pro? Ideally I would upgrade to 4gb overall probably sometime next year.

Flibby did you have any luck with the ocz memory?

No worries, I thought it would be wise to see if it works for you then I can go from there. But im getting impatient, if it doesnt work I think im going to order some ballistix as some other people are using this and rma service is good too.

Thats interesting, so there obviously is a bit of an issue here.

Well I have tried one stick at a time, then the other stick of ram. Different combinations but I have had no luck in being able to get it to post and change settings in the bios.

Flibby are you going to keep the ocz, I suppose you are up and running now then, so you are ok. Im wondering if it is worth getting another stick of the ocz ati and see if i can get it to work or buy some crucial ballistix and sell my ocz.
