What memory for a IB ITX build?

I am building a IB setup based around the 3570K and a mini-ITX motherboard and wanted to know what RAM I should get?

- I need 8GB (2 x 4GB).
- I will not be overclocking the CPU (underclocking it if anything).
- Max budget of £50.

I am just looking for the max speed RAM supported by the CPU. So don't want any extra gubbins unless it makes it faster or uses lower power/more efficient <--- I hope that statement makes sense.

I am buying now as I will be building when the IB motherboards come out and puttting a SB cpu in there until the IB cpus are released.

Thanks.

Agree with beejjacobs, but the deals will end tomorrow first thing and they might put the Kinngston on offer :D

Well, that is very nice RAM and I'd get some if I could, but what is the build for? In most situations [i.e. except benchmarks] you won't notice a difference!

For a development machine. I'm building some software which is very CPU/memory intensive at the moment...would I notice the difference?

I'm trying to gauge whether its worth it.

Also - what if I went second hand? Or is memory at that price where the new price is close to the second hand price?

EDIT: Also, what would you the power draw difference be aswell?

Someone else might know better, but it sounds like you might notice a difference then yes. It's great RAM, if its in budget go for it!

I wouldn't bother second hand for RAM, just because it is so cheap!

Have you seen this thread about the Samsung Green?

Power draw of RAM is probably very low, but this Samsung does/can run at very low voltages which is always good!

Probably what you recommended.

Something has just occurred to me. My build will be on a mini-ITX board....could I run into problems with the cooler taking up the space that ram should be in...is that heard of?

Yes, but with low profile RAM - which both kits are that I've mentioned - that wont be a problem :)
