What memory for MBP?

DDR2 PC2-5300 • CL=5 • UNBUFFERED • NON-ECC • DDR2-667 • 1.8V • 128Meg x 64

Gonna cost you just under a ton for a 1 gig stick of something like Crucial.

My first mbp had crucial ram the second had nanya chips in it. Wonder what the 3rd will be.

The pro is rather more picky than the Macbook about the ram it uses. Personally I'd recommend the Kingston stuff; guaranteed to work on the MBP, and about 160quid for 2 gig. I've got that ram in 3 Macbooks and cyk has it in his MBP with no problems.

Any chance you could drop me an email of the best (cheapest) place to get hold of 2 x 1gig sticks of that stuff?

How much would i get for 2 x 512meg sticks that are in my system at the moment?

Cheers! :)

Well its too late now I've made the boo boo. I thought it would be ok seeing as I have asked for assistance off the forums. OcUK don't even stock the kind of memory I would need.

If a don reads this and feels the need to take action then fair enough I won't complain.

I've seen the RAM for Macbooks availiable for as little as £160 for 2x 1GB sticks, I think it was Corsair ValueSelect but Apple don't eaxtly splash out on the stuff they include. I had to search through my list of e-tailers to find it, there are quite a few who don't even stock the type of RAM in 1GB as it's quite specialised.

Edit?

Seriously, if they sell ANY other kinds of hardware that might be considered simular then you've had it, personally I wouldn't chance the ban hammer ;)
