What memory for my P5NLI and q6600?

Is it the P5N-E SLI? Some DDR2 PC6400 will be fine, should get you 3.2Ghz out of the CPU which will be pretty much all that board can push it to anyway :)

Yes mate it's SLI.

I don't think its a big clocker as I could barely get my 1.86 chip beyond 2.1 and I'm sure I had it at like 2.4 with my last board before it went bang.

Is it worth getting faster mem? Will it make much difff over the 6400?

I've got 2gb matched pair OCZ ATI branded stuff (it's red), should i replace the lot with 4GB (on win7 32bit) or just get an additional 2GB?

No theres 2 version the original was just P5N-SLI, the better one was the P5N-E SLI. Does yours have a red or silver NB heatsink?

I'll be suprised if you get 3gig 100% stable on that board (tho possible) let alone anything more. Most nForce 6 boards simply can't supply the amperage required to keep a 65nm quad stable much over stock.

cracking little board and with a fan on the nb (gets toasty) i dont see why 3.6 shouldnt be reached as i got that on mine with a q6600
Thats pretty good cupra, the majority of nforce boards were terrible quad clockers, my q6600 wouldnt go above 3.0ghz on an evga 680ia1 no matter how hard i tried, the same cpu done 3.8ghz with ease in an asus p5q deluxe p45 board.
