memory has a lways been a tricky subject for me because there are so many sticks out there claimbing to be the fastest ect and im confused!lol
im going to be building a high end rig in the next 6 months comprising an athlon x2 cpu(4800 unless they bring another out) and will be either water cooling or phase change cooling it.whats the best ram for me to get?
im wanting to take the cpu past 3ghz.
not i was always under the impression that it was best to get a ram module with the highest number i.e. 4800 would be faster than 3200 ect but doesnt always seem to be the case.im wanting 2gb of ram and will either be using the dfi nf4 dr expert board or an a8n sli32 premium board so wondering if to get 4x512mb modules or 2x1gb modules as i know some boards run slower with 4 modules.
should i be looking for the highest mhz possible or the lowest latency?any modules that will hit 275mhz at 2-2-2-5 1t?
give me a shortlist of memory i should be looking at.

Should you not be looking at DDR2 as socket M2 will be out by then...

...in which case, I cannot advise as I know little about DDR2. One general rule, tight timings at high fsb = better ram.

yeah i had heard that ddr2 would be available eventually for the athlon64 platform but i wasnt sure when this is meant to be happening.thats problems with upgrading pc's,6 months later and theres a new cpu/memory/gpu/mobo out thats better than the one youve just bought!grrrrrrrr
