What memory ?

Hi

I may upgrade to an Asus M5A99X EVO AMD 990X (Socket AM3+) DDR3 PCI-Express ATX Motherboard.

I need advice as to the memory I should buy to go with it. Currently I have DDR2 RAM but will buy DDR3 to fit on board. PC used mainly for photo/video edits and general use. It is only used for gaming from time to time.

I have an AMD Athlon II x3 450 running at 3.4 but will upgrade to Bulldozer when it comes out.

Will 4gb be fine or should I get 8gb ?

Any help/advice welcome.

4GB is fine unless working on large files, then 8GB would be better.
remember you would need a 64bit OS to go over the 4GB.

Ok but I need help with the best RAM to buy. Which make and model? :confused:

a lot of people like corsair, G.Skull, ocz. but personally i havent ever really noticed that much difference. if you are planning to OC then go for the best you can afford speed wise to give you more flexability.

Corsair XMS3 is great quality and value - link.

@ £31 it's pretty much a no brainer.
