What Merc SL is this ?

Bit of a debate at work as to which SL this is.

Did a plate check on it and it is coming up as a SL500 , but it looks like an SL63 AMG to me.

I have yet to find the owner of this at my work to as him. Any ideas ? Seems that the info the plate check is coming up with the wrong car.

It's an SL500 with a bodykit.

Sadly chav versions of these are quite common now.

It's "only" around 300-350hp i think but you of all people know that a big V8 is a good thing

They're not really that fast sadly, only just over 300BHP and they're a heavy car.

Heavily kitted 2003 SL500 as mentioned.

305hp, so not loads of power for the size of engine by modern standards. They go pretty well though, i had one a while back and they are certainly punchy.

Isn't that what a body kit is?

They've took off the front/rear arches of the car, fitted side skirts, rear spoiler and the bonnet too.

what else is it if it's not an after market body kit?

I think it's this kit

God, they've even replaced the headlight cluster too.

There was a CAT C sl500 with this bodykit and colour on auto trader about a year ago, albeit listed as a sl63 black Edition I recall.
