I haven't played an MMO properly for a good couple of years and with a new build coming, I'm looking to get back into one as no other genre gives me as much enjoyment.

So, what MMOs are you all currently playing and why?

I'm an Eve Online player myself, though it's a game not to everybody's liking.

I like the community and having the opportunity to play the game as you wish really appeals to me. There is a ridiculously steep learning curve that will put a lot of people off however, definitely give it a try.

Also, lotro is pretty good fun, +1

I'm playing guild wars atm, since its free and i wanna do somethings i never got round to on it before guild wars 2 comes out. Other then that i can recomend lotro, its a really pretty game in places and there is a real mature helpful community even the gm's are really helpful.

Really tempted to play it again but with my girl friend coming to live with me soon doubt i will get the time.

Apart from Everquest, SWG (pre-cu) and FFXI, all the MMO's I've played have been plain awful. They all seem to be infected by WoW and copy eachother.

I think FFXIV will be deciding my future relationships with MMO's. As for SW: The Old Republic, the more I see of it the less interested I become.

Do what I'm doing and wait it out for FFXIV. It seems to be the only one that does things uniquely and if the player base is anything like FFXI, then it should last a long time.

I just quit EVE, due to time constraints, great game nonetheless. I've been tempted back to Lotro but I'm waiting to see how the new Final Fantasy pans out before fully immersing myself.

I was playing Age of Conan and LoTRO, but realised i only have time to play one MMO, so i cancelled Age of Conan and kept LoTRO.

ive just stopped play WOW after 5 years of it, im bored and tried EVE and LOTRO and warhammer and they dont keep my interest like WOW used to.

I cant wait for SW the old republic but thats going to be a while.

I complete single player games quite quickly and Bad company 2 is a bit boring now also :(

Used to play Matrix Online til it shut down July last year :( but I'm now waiting for DC Universe Online to come out in November as that will be my main MMO. I hear Need For Speed World is out in a couple of weeks so I might try that.

Darkfall Online

- Naval Sea Battles
- Full Loot combat
- Player Sieges from Player owned cities
- Alignment system
- FPS fast paced combat
- 95% of items can be crafted
- Player Houses / Villages / Hamlets / Cities
- Sea Tower battles and village control points

I don't think I have to say anymore, their are a ton of things their that are not in these so called AAA mmo's and Darkfall does them well! all except player balance.

Used to play WoW. I enjoyed it when I was soft-core raiding but when the guild went hardcore, I quit the guild as I wanted to play on my terms and not when they told me too. After that it just got a bit lame as all my mates quit and it got boring.

Waiting on FF14 at the moment.

I gave Allods and Battle of the Immortals a go the other day, they're not that great. I think I'm just trying to scratch an itch that I should leave. :(

lotro! only reason i play it is becuase i recently bought the lifetime sub and because of mature community :)

I forget, did you get guilded? We're over on the Laurelin server, but I don't recognise your name - possibly because you've forgotten to put your forum name in your player note

Anway, exactly this for me too - only it's not the sole reason. Very much enjoying the game, been playing for 2 months and I don't feel like I've done much at all. There are still raids to do, I've only skirted into Moria briefly and gone nowhere NEAR the Mirkwood maps, only levelled one car seriously and still 10 levels off the cap at that, crafted only one legendary item (for Feliz) and haven't played around too much with my own. I've already got my money's worth (£105 all in, life sub and complete pack) when you weigh cost to time played, it's never felt like a grind so far, and I'm a very happy bunny.

Might be off for a few days though, because I got into the FFXIV beta. It'll probably take another week or so to download, but it's looming on the horizon.
