Atm Im running a Gigabyte p35c-ds3r and a 2140@3200mhz.

The damned thing wont post over 400mhz no matter what i do? The damn boot cycle lottery when changing bios settings is beyond infuriating too.
So my plan is to buy a new mobo and either a e8500/e8600. I'm worried than my ds3r wont handle it.

Im using 4gb of the 4 4 4 4 12 800mhz corsair.

Any suggestions?

Ive always been weary of asus as i had a bad experience years ago. I'm guessing they are much better these days. added you.

Are you aware that an awful lot of the E21*0 chips won't run over 400mhz, no matter which board they're in.

I'd lay money on your board being fine, and your CPU being the problem.

hmm. May try a cpu first then. Got 415fsb earlier but bombed in 5mins. ah well cant really complain for the price.

I'd certainly try a new chip in the Gigabyte before buying a new board.

However if you do decide to change then Easyriders suggestion of one of the ASUS P5Q is spot-on.

The only real advantage of the Deluxe is the 16 phase power regulation, and it's only really useful for running quad-cores at high FSB (as in near 500mhz).
