What modem do I need

Hi all. Erm I'm a real noob when it comes to networking. Bascially just installed Vista and much to my surprise (not) I'm having compatibility problems, one of which is my modem!

It's a DSL 200 B1 which pipex sent when I signed up. Might want to make a note for anyone else on who have these modems who doesn't know. Only version C1-C5 are compatible. DSL will not be releasing drivers for the A/B brand as their 'too old' (even though I received mine two weeks ago :/).

It's a USB one but not sure about ethernet and routers. Might just be reading into it too much but can anyone advise on a good one. Preferably adsl/adsl2 compatible?

This will do the job but it doesn't seem to have any built-in firewall so you'd be better off spending the extra on this which will allow you to attach more PCs should you need to.

NETGEAR DG834G 4tw tbh.

I recommended the plain DG834 as it's cheaper and there was no request for wireless.

For an extra £10 you can get the G. Money well spent with greater flexibility.

None at all. The wireless link from router to PC is faster than ADSL (bar bonded channel setups from Be).
