What monitor size has the biggest text at native reolution. Would it be an old 4:3 19" at 1280x1024. I guess its the same question as which has the biggest dot pitch?

thanks

Masten

Yes, larger dot pitch means less dots per inch (dpi), and the 19" 1280x1024 monitors had a massive dot pitch. The 27" 1920x1200 screens probably have the absolute largest dot pitch of currently available TFT monitors (purposely ignoring TVs). You do realise you can adjust the font size in Windows DPI scaling options? Why do you want to know?

edit: See here.

I did try resizing the windows text on a 20" widescreen, but some web pages look odd if you do that

Hi chaps

mud: yeah, Its 'cos of my eyes. Currently I have a 17" 1280 x 104 and a 15" 1024x768 dual set-up. the 15" is significantly bigger so would like similar in a big monitor

That calculator is great: I get this

15": (1024 x 768) 0.305
17": (1280 x 1024) 0.263
19": (1280 x 1024) 0.294
22": (1680 x 1050) 0.282
24" (1080): 0.276
24" (1200): 0.269

As mentioned in another post I do graphics work for a living and want to upgade from a 17". Probably really need a professional colour accurate screen but these are £500+ so have to make do with a consumer job at the moment.

Needs to be 22" or 24" non-glossy, reproduce colours accurately and have normal looking colours - not super saturated for effect etc

Budget around £200

So looking at the dot-pitch 22", or 24" (1080) is probably the best bet

Been recommedned this

Is there a 24" version?

The calculator works, but if you click through to the link I gave you you'll see a comprehensive list already calculated...

Cheap monitors and accurate colour reproduction don't mix. Any monitor with viewing angles of 160°/170° is bound to be TN film and is not what you want. This discounts two of your three links already. I'll let someone more up to date than I weigh in on this, but basically you're going to struggle with that budget. Here's a good place to start, as is here. If you're serious about colour reproduction you'll want a hardware means of calibrating the monitor, and that'll likely be half your budget...

Hi there. I also have bad eyes. I use a 27 dell LCD 1920 x 1200 resolution. I find it brilliant as i get less eye strain on it.

I have used a 22 inch, 19 inch and a 24 inch. I do find the 27 Dell the best one in its range

This is one reason why I hate 17" 5:4 panels, the dp is really small.
My aunt has one and runs it in 800x600 lol, I couldn't even get her to use 1024x768 never mind native res.

Best bet from modern screen is probably to look at 26-28" screens running 1920x1200 res.
