I've finally got round to decideing its time for my current AGP set up to be retired, decided to sell off old mobo, processor, ram and two graphics cards (BFG 6800 ultra and a 7800gs+) + couple other old componets to raise some cash towards a rebuild. I cannot decide what board to go for, Ive read countless threads and reviews and it all gets very confusing. The two boards I have looked at the most are,
1) Asus P5K Premium/WiFi-AP Intel P35
2) EVGA nForce 680i SLi
I know the 680i gets slated, but is that due to the earlier versions or do the new versions have probs to?. Also what is the compatability of the new PCIE v2 cards in either board? (Sorry if this sounds noobish but been on AGP a longtime).
The componenets I will fit are:-
BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 512MB
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C4 or Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 (depending on which mobo choose)
Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition
Or is there a better choice other than the tWo above?.
