what motor for 3k ?

I want a car for 3k i have almost all saved up. i can insure any car however will only use it weekends only.

not overly bothered about power, but over 150hp would be nice.

I want style really.

really really tempted by a vr6, or a mk2 converted to a vr6.

However also likingthe bmw e36, i really wanted a convertable one but they are all m3's and all 10k ?

I really like them, after having one thrust upon me for a week, I drove it for the sake of it, 8 tanks of fuel in a week

They sound fantastic, utterly fantastic, and apart from a bagload of understeer (can be combatted with lift off oversteer), they are pretty nice to chuck around. Although IMO the brakes leave a fair amount to be desired.

Yeah, a 2003 2.0 twin spark. I want a go in a V6 now as I came up behind one in the 2.0 and it left me for dead. :eek:

It's the same engine that's in mine, sounds awesome doesn't it? The V6 is dream material at the minute, might give it a few years & see if I can stretch to a 156 GTA :cool:

Definately, most people (who like cars) told me that it had an almost ferarriesque noise to it. Not saying it has that V12 scream, but it has some resemblance.

I looked at 156GTA's before the leon, but the horror stories put me off considering my annual milage.

How has this thread not managed to recommend the MR2?

For £3k, there are is a lot of availability and £3k will even get you a reasonable condition rev3 Turbo. That's a lot more than 150BHP though...

I'm seeing a lot of lads driving KA's but why? I hate them, they are girls cars, they look silly.

If you are 7ft 3 and need headroom then great, it's an ok car for a giant.
