I am in the need for a large MP3 player my current creative 20gig touch is almost full and I need something larger.

Need it to play both mp3 & wma, reasonable battery, drag and drop if possible. Video player back even better. Vista compatible.

What can anyone suggest

Cowon iAudio X5 - new 60gb one launched recently
Cowon iAudio A2 - can still get them new

I've got the M3 and an A2 and they are superb. Most of my stuff is encoded as flac files so these make it a piece of pee to play.

hmm. It's a tough choice between the x5 60gb and the x5l 30gb - the x5l has a much better battery life but of course half the storage. they arent the best video players either.

for £10 more then the x5 60gb you can get a creative zen vision W 30gb with that nice 4.3" screen. again only 30gb though, and not exactly compact. tbh if movie playback is really that important, i'd go for the zen vision M 60gb - great codec support and a great screen in a compact shell:)

iPod 80gig to throw in the bag? While not as good as the Zen VM its smaller and holds more music and sound quality while not the best is absolutely fine!

I was considering the creative zen m 60gig, also looked at the Ipod 80gig video aswell but I thought it couldnt do wma I may be wrong.

I did have a creative zen xtra but the firmware upgrade failed, this was the reason to get the zen touch.

I heard that microsoft have got a zune which sounds great, but are there any limitations to it.

Have Creative Vision M and must say i'm really pleased. The picture and sound quality is far superior to the Ipods and the Vision is compatible with more file types out the box than many others including the Ipod.

Definitely go for the Cowon stuff as recommended by Flibster. You can never go wrong with those, they are packed full of features and often do more than what you originally expected. We already know about iPods and Creatives - look beyond the horizon and get something different like the Cowons as mentioned, I'm a fanboy of Cowon myself and have their recently launched D2. :p

the x5's are not the greatest video players as i've mentioned. i love iaudio gear but if video is important the creative is just the better choice unless he's happy with a full size pmp:)
