My dad is looking at a business option where he would be required to carry people about (not a taxi!) and ideally needs at least 7 full size adult seats. As it would be for personal gain he would need to pass an additional test (iirc) to drive a van converted with seats.

So far we have looked at VW (Touran), Kia (Sedona) and Seat (Alhambra). Toyota recommended a land cruiser but couldn't source one as they claim they have run out of stock of existing models and the new one isn't out yet. The Touran boot seats are more for kids, we couldn't see an Alhambra as the dealer didn't have any. We quite liked the Sedona but having checked the internet it gets mixed reviews with several reports of Electrical, Brake and Clutch faults reported.

He drives a Volvo V70 Estate 2.5T SE 5dr 2005 (54) with 89,000 miles on the clock. VW offered 5.5k part exchange towards a Seat Alhambra with 39k Miles. Kia offered £5,750 against a Kia Sedona with 7k miles leaving approximately £5k to pay. The volvo needs approximately £1.2k of work done but dealers will accept as is.

Anybody recommend any others? As mentioned, it needs to be full sized adult seats.

for full size adult seats you are kinda limited to the

galaxy/alhambra/sharan
voyager might just work
plain old minibus,

cant get s-max, grand scenic, C4 grand picasso, even the new galaxy is a bit limited on rear space

bullit

T5 Volkswagen Transporter

you'll never get 7 adults comfortable in a touran, possibly not even in a sharalaxy

the transporter is the best bet as it has sliding doors.
either that or a voyager, but they're rubbish, as are kia sedonas..
