From what I've read most cars seem to need a few bits doing at 45,000ish miles such as cam belts and other stuff.

Does anyone know what a Rover 414 needs doing at 45,000? The manual doesn't say. :(

And no it hasn't had HGF yet. :D :p

Hmm Rover 414 I'd say everything but the mats to be safe :)

Oh and the manual wouldn't say but the service book should :)

I think you can get away with the back mats but you should really change the front ones .

;)

My old car survived until 85k on original belts

If you're going to do the cambelt, do the water pump too. It'll need replacing at 80k if you don't.

Google is wonderful. Anyone else use it?

Cambelt, water pump, and the usual oil, filter, fuel filter etc. If you go into any Rover dealer (do they still exist?), and ask nicely, they'll give you a checklist sheet with EVERYTHING that needs to be done at major and minor service intervals - everything from greasing the sunroof seals, to checking all sorts of different hoses in the engine. It even has diagrams and tickboxes ;)
