My ati 1950 pro has finally died (well the fan on the cooler) and I was due an upgrade anyway. Been looking around for something but struggling to find something.

I have at most £75 would prefer new unless the seller is reliable.

There was some gtx 260 in clearance but they have now gone.

I have seen on the big auction site a 5770 with DDR2 memory would this be better than a 5750 with ddr5? Or is there another card that is better?

Mainly desktop (text editing, photo editing, video) used driving two Dell 2007WFP although I do want to play Anno 1404, civ4 & 5 and the older C&C games along with Quake.

Rest of the rig: corsair 520, Gigabyte DS4, (Will be) q6600, 4gb geil ddr2.

Any help much appreciated :)

Check if your photo & video apps can take advantage of CUDA acceleration.

If they can then what Cleeecooo suggested would be your best choice.

See if you can get a 216sp model as they are slightly quicker.

Thanks for that..

I've been looking on there for a while watching and there are some really stupid prices on there. I'll keep my eyes open for those hadn't really looked at the nvidia cards will take a look in a bit. I think the last nvidia card I had was a Gainward Gefore 2 Golden sample still have that in my server.

Would I see much benefit from getting a 1gb card over a 512mb?
