Ok, so this is my case i've had for years now :

(ignore the zip drive, that's something that has lived on top of my computers since one of my very first one, and has almost moved along)

The case has a front fan that hasn't been working for a while, but there's a fan behind it that did work, and it has a fan at the back, and one in the middle on the side.

However i've now upgraded pretty much everyhing in the past week, and bought :

- Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz
- Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Intel Z77
- TeamGroup Elite 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel
- Xigmatek Aegir SD 128264 CPU Cooler
- Corsair TX750 PSU
- MSI HD 7950 Twin Frozr III OC V2 3072MB
- LG BH10LS38 Blue ray burner
- 2x 2 TB Seagate hard drives

I was hoping that the broken fan issue was gonna be solved after replacing the PSU and other bits, but it's still not working (and i've tried tapping/moving it) and the fan behind it isn't working either now

And due to that gigantic Xigmatek Aegir cooler thing the side fan doesn't fit anymore either, so i had to take it off the side bit of the casedoor leaving a rather big gap.

The little side fan had to go due to big cpu cooler.

I've been looking at cases for the past hour or so now, but haven't really seen one i like.

I like a big front fan (like my one has) so i'm looking for a big enough case (not sure what size mine is, tower or midi atx?) with a front fan.

Any recommandation ?

Good god, give us a budget and we'll sort that asap!

Even if the fan did work, that cable mess would render it irrelevant :)

Budget probably around a hundred quid as I've just spend nearly a grand on computer bits already, but then again if I see one I really like I might go over again.

And do those cables hold/create heat then? Any tips on how to make it look a bit more neatly?

They obstruct airflow - pretty badly in your case :)
With a bottom mounted psu in a case with decent cable management (behind the mobo tray) you'll be sorted.

There are many options at that price range. You'll get loads of suggestions.
Make it easier for us to find something you like by letting us know if there are any particular colour/LED fan/window requirements etc, or any things you definitely don't want.

Looks like you'll want at least 4 drive bays for example. Unless you need DVD and blu ray drives.

But that corsair 750tx I just got only has a fan on the bottom, or do I just mount it upside down then?

I like a big front fan, blue leds on the front and side, and like a "busy" front, like I have now. The blue Ray player is connected, but the dvdrom isn't, I just don't like those front bays to have the plain covers, hence I filled them with funky looking displays I don't even have connected properly (not got the temp sensors in place, or the fan controllers connected in case I set them wrong).

That helps a lot. I would've specced you a few clean cut looking cases which may not have been to your taste.

Check out the Coolermaster HAF series as well as the CM-690II.
Aerocool may well have something you like too.

Personally, none of the above are to my taste (except a white CM690II), but they'll solve your issue and get you up to date :)

The PSU can be flipped with the fan facing down. Most cases should have a vent and filter underneath to allow this.

Antec P280, Fractal R3 / R4, Corsair Carbide 500R, Corsair 600T, Vengeance C70, Bitfenix Shinobi / XL, Corsair 550D, CoolerMaster Storm Trooper, HAF 932, HAFX...

Loads! Take your pick, and we'll give you a few words and alternatives.

Cheers for that, looked at those but the only oneI kinda liked was that carbide 500r.

Do like this one though :

though ideally with a black edge around the fan instead of white.

I like the look of this one, and the reviews aren't bad either, and it can fit a PSU at the bottem. What ya' recon ?

It's no better than the one you have or the one you linked before I'm afraid :)

5 star user reviews are meaningless if the users haven't got a clue.
One guy says he got this case and temps were awful, so he got more fans and temps were still awful. He then got a watercooling unit (probably Corsair H60 or something) and it's 'ok' now. He still gives this £60 case five stars despite the fact that it's crappy airflow made him buy more fans and then a cooler before it worked ok... God knows what ok is in his book.

You should also remove that link as it's against forum rules to link to a competitor site.

We need to bring you up to the present day in terms of features and styling dude :)
I'm sure a compromise can be found.

I'll post up a few shortly.

Modular PSU's allow you to connect only the cables that you need.
This means you don't have as much hassle with tucking unused cables out of sight.

Most decent cases will allow you to tuck/route cables behind the mobo tray which keeps your case uncluttered and allows air to flow through with less restriction which helps keep temps down.
Modular PSU's aren't strictly necessary if you have adequate space to hide the cables, but it can be very useful.

I was hoping it wouldn't come to that...
Sorry, I cannae stand the z11. Blue stuff looks nice, features are a bit poo imo. it's all good having a big ol front fan, but when that fan is blocked by near solid HDD bays, I question the point :)

Oh well, it isn't the end of the world I guess.

@Medic-one
There's no denying you're from Essex ;)

That Thermaltake case is fine feature-wise. A bit overpriced imo and the looks are definitely uhm, interesting. Hey your taste, your money :)
