Hey guys,I'm selling my 2 GTX 670's and i'm looking for a single powerful card.

I'm in no rush and i'm willing to wait for a possible 290x if it's stronger than the 780,I have about a £600 budget.

I don't mind AMD or Nvidia. I'll be gaming at 1440P some time early next year.

But at the moment i'm gaming at 120hz 1080P.

All input is appreciated,Many Thanks guys

Jamie

I think the answer to your question will become easier to answer once the 290X card by AMD is actually released and the card is reviewed by the major tech websites.

A single GTX 780/290X is not enough for 120hz.

However, both may prove to be sufficient for 1440P 60hz.

If you have a 600 budget and definitely want a single gpu solution, make sure you get the best non reference card and overclock it as much as possible.

I still think a 7970 crossfire at £443.98 might be something you should consider.

Well i'm thinking of taking 1 780/290x for now,and early next year pick up another if i play at 1440p or higher depending on what monitor i get.

I'd wager that the 290X or one of the overclocked 780s will do you fine.

I moved from a 6990 and didn't want less performance, and infact wanted far more. I bought OcUK's Inno3D HerculeZ X3 GTX 780 card. I'm running at a higher resolution too (1440p), which worried me a bit, however i'm getting 100+ FPS in every game. I've enabled vsync to stop any slight stutters from occurring (if it drops from 120 to 65FPS for example).

Gameplay is flawless. Plus, this particular card is equal to a Titan in benchmarks, and surpasses it in many others!

Out of curiosity, am curious why selling the 670's to go single?

Currently got couple 670's myself. Was hoping would get years out of them, but currently wondering if they will last even 3 years at decent settings... I can see memory becoming an issue with consoles now having a hell of a lot of memory available.

I just want a single more powerful card and more Vram for 1440p to be completely honest.

They run everything i can throw at it even at 5760x1080,It's just i need more than 2gb.

But saying that if they don't sell i will keep them,Doesn't bother me,Just specing ahead of time.
