Had to google a for a bit of history on the 1963 winter (wasn't around then).

Seems incredible that the UK experienced such a bitter winter, and nothing has come anywhere near close in the last 3 decades.
Winter 2010/11 was colder here in Scotland - we had snow on the ground from December all the way through to April. I think it was the coldest winter on record (over 100 years).

Over 6,000 tremors/earthquakes in the run up to that one. One of the few Canary Islands I haven't visited due to its position up wind. The government has had plenty of warning, and people were packed a good few days ago ready to leave if necessary. Not expecting any drama unless some of the volcanos on the other islands decide they fancy a pop too.
Is it the Canaries where there’s a volcano threatening to collapse into the sea and potentially causing a tsunami that would wipe out the eastern seaboard of the US?

Russia has one of the largest rotational land masses, Africa, US and India vertically on axis, but the ocean would end up with a large tidal wave across many continents.
Looks like if it hits it’ll be somewhere between S. America, the Pacific, South East Asia, India or through into Africa.
