what next graphics card problem

So i have the gigabyte 550ti graphics card and it was just shutting down my pc so i slapped my old 9600 in sent the card back BUT they say they have tested it and the card is working fine.

Alan wake plays fine on my 9600 but after 3 to 5 min on the 550ti it would just shut down and the card actually burnt my hand when i checked it.

Furmark on the 550ti would just shut my pc down and you can feel the heat from it .... my 9600 can do it ok so now i am at a loss on what to do anyone got any advice?

You need a fan profile and quite possibly better case cooling mate.

If your TI for example had the fan running at 20% then your card will reach a certain temperature and then simply shut the PC down to prevent damage.

i had the fan set at 100% and the side was off the case my q6600 o/c to 3.4ghz only runs at 55 under load

What size and make PSU do you have?

Did you log the temps to a file? what were they if you did?

no i did not and to be honest i wouldn't know how

NM just clicked it but i don't get my card back till tomorrow
