What next? Mail/Media Server?

So - my 4770k build is nearly complete.
My ram (some RipjawsX 1600mhz) should be enrout - would have loved to have sprung for some TRidentX - but just a wee bit too expensive for me just now.

But - as part of my acquisition of all my parts, I've ended up with the following spares, and I'm wondering what to do with them.

I've actually got a G3220 Pentium, 4gb Corsair value DDR3, 16gb (2x 8gb) of Hynix Registered DDR3, and 8gb of Team Group Frost DDR3.

I've been thinking about building a home mail/media server - and was wondering if I could utilise either the CPU and or any of the spare memory.

Of course, the Hynix ram requires a different type of configuration - but given that I've got 16gb of it, should I be looking to use that as the starting point for my mail/media server?

Or, should I try to use the CPU, keep some of the other ram, and punt the Hynix stuff?

Of course if I kept the Hynix gear, what sort of cheap motherboard/cpu combo would I need to get?

Like I said - I want to make something I can use as a mailserver - but also as a server for media to stream to Chromecast, Xbox, Sonos etc...

So what do you think?
