hi,

just had my first go at o/cing, not really sure what all the numbers mean yet.
my system: i5 760, asus p7p55d-e, 4gb geil 1600mhz value plus mem
i've managed to get the cpu to 3.8ghz on these settings:bclock@190, multiplier@20, dram freq@1504, cpu [email protected]
run intel burntest 5 times@max and get 72 max temp on coretemp, if i put bclock up to 200 and multiplier@20=bsod and if i keep bclock@190 and put multiplier to 21=bsod.
where do i go from here? being a noob i'm very nervous about playing with cpu voltages and what would be a reasonable cpu temp? is 72 ok? is burntest a good program to use? i will be using prime95 in the very near future as it seems to be used the most.
i would like to hit 4ghz if i can but maybe thats a step too far. any input will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

what cooling you using?

if stock hsf, replace it. Imho 72 is getting close to too hot. Voltage wise you're fine for longetivity at between 1.25-1.35.

i'm using arctic cooling freezer extreme rev 2. i've read a few bad things about this cooler...may have to think about a new cooler, thanks for the voltage info, at least i've got some room to play in then.

mine did 20x200 prime stable at 1.3v set in bios and dropped to 1.27 underload. 201x22 takes 1.33 on cpu and vtt to be prime stable.

what are your temps like for gaming?
