I've been playing CSS most of the day and I fired up COH and 10 minutes later the following happened:

Excuse the rubbish pic, just used my phone.

It's my trusty old Galaxy 6800GT @ Stock speeds (well it was trusty).

My temps after a reboot are now 62 degrees and ambient at 47 which seem fine to me. Cpu & Mobo temps are also fine!

Any Ideas?

I've had similar from my oc'd x800 and my non oc'd x1900.

These things happen from time to time.

If I were to speculate I'd put it down to 1 of 2 things. Either some random driver bug or a temporary hardware issue caused by a short or power irregularity.

Best not to worry about it.

Its a message from god telling you that your having too much fun with your 2 monitor setup....

No seriously, thats almost certainly the ram on your graphics card dead or dieing.

Almost certainly a memory issue with your card , you can get them from time to time if the 3D clocks on your card don't initialise correctly mainly due to a driver bug, If it's Ok after a reboot & you don't get any more similar happenings i wouldn't loose to much sleep over it :)

 Just did it again 40 minutes into kicking some axis arse in COH :(

I can play CSS without any problems, is it cause COH is a lot more demanding gfx wise?

I did come across this once in summer but the graphics were scortching arounds 78 mark mid-game in my Wavemaster! So I doubt the dying RAM analogy is applicable?

When it does it, screens just go blank and fans stay running . .

Hmmm, if it's only happening in one game then my initial reaction would be a driver conflict. However it is entirely likely, as mentioned above that your video memory is on it's way out.

underclock it? i got 3 dead 68gt's here, 1 agp 2 pcie, xfx wont take them back, over a year old now :/

Yep, looks like your GPU memory is on the fritz.. not good news though, ive just got playing COH on my Galaxy 6800GT.. youve made me afraid to play it! :(

Don't say that, it cost me £330 new! I think I'll cry a little :(

if it takes 40 mins to bork then its a heat issue. if it was dead memory then as soon as it gets into windows it would be borked.

and your cooler being 62c idle in windows is not good.

suggest you get a better cooler for the card ASAP or that card WILL suffer PERMANENT damage.

that card can be salvaged but you need to act fast. do not use it for games until you sort the cooler out.

if it was dead memory it would look like that as soon as u powered on the PC. Looks like its on its way out 'or' perhaps overheating? If the GPU was dead I don't think the PC would even boot.

hmm, no reply from the op, guess the card blew up and took the rest of his pc with it.

lesson learnt the hard way i guess.
Now, now . . . I was enjoying Jackass 2

It's pre fitted with an Artic Rev, should I apply some AS5 or something?

I think it's definitely a heat issue, as with CS temps don't go as high, but whilst carefully monitoring on my second screen, COH took it upto 76 degrees!

I heard of similar issue. What he found was it was a corrupt driver. Uninstall and use a driver cleaner. Reinstall drivers. It should be ok then. That or try different drivers.

Personally i think you have been infected with the matrix (pink version) lol. :D

Changed drivers, did a clean install over summer too!

Pink Matrix, now that's interesting . . Can you see the 'box' in the first screen? I think someone or should I say something is trying to tell me something

I thinks its your memory that exact screen came on for me earlier today when I set my memory on my 6800 to 2ghz by accident, underclock it and see
