What option would you take?

So we moved into our new property a couple months back which has a south facing garden and a lean to conservatory with a blue tinted roof. The current conservatory has an electric awning that is currently not working and i've been told by the original fitter that its needs replacing for a variety of reasons. So now with the summer approaching i have a couple options:

1) Have the awning serviced for £180 and hope that it works although the fabric is not in good condition and is baggy in certain places. However, the kitchen would still be hot in the summer.

2) Have air con fitted to our property for £4-5k so this will cool the dining room/Kitchen that both lead to the conservatory

I would fix the awning then buy a couple of portable ac units. Install the through cavity vent kits for tumble dryers to give semi permanent venting options without needing windows open to vent out during day.

Fraction of the cost, no need for permanent AC fixings, added bonus is you can move upstairs at night to cool other rooms in summer.

I would go with option 3) Have AC fitted in the dining room AND your master bedroom. You can thank me later ;)

You moved in during the height of winter but want to blow 5k on A/C because it might get hot?

Awning repair would be around £4-5k which is almost similar to air conditioning

Air conditioning a conservatory is going to be hideously inefficient. I see lots of people with conservatories putting a proper insulated roof on them now and it fixes a lot of the issues.

Parents have had one of these for years on theirs, which is south facing.

They put it on in spring then take it off for winter. Being outside it works much better than an internal as it stops the heat getting in to start with.
