I've been trying to understand how or what mechanism windows uses to determine the order of application when applying a change at a root ACE with inheritance.
For instance, the root folder contains 5000 child objects. What order is the iteration as the ACL updates to these child objects? It does not appear to be alphanumerically or chronologically, so what the hell is it?
I've trawled the web and as yet been unsuccessful finding an answer. Any takers?
Cheers, Paul.
