What OS are you using for your HTPC?

My current HTPC set up is a C2D/2GB/HD5450 build with Win7 HP on it - I'm tempted to downgrade to a spare atom/ion board I have, as I've recently been streaming the video through a PS3 and no longer need the power/heat/noise! The atom board, however, only takes on stick of ram - and win7 runs like a dead slug on 1GB

I'm looking to chuck ubuntu on it, as I've used it before, and there are linux versions of all my media center apps (XBMC,PS3MS,Sabnzbd,filezilla).

What OS are you all using?

Sorry if I've missed something here...can't you just chuck a 4GB DIMM into the Atom and run Windows 7?

I could if I wanted to buy new hardware, sure. I've got more than enough spare hardware lying around though, and not enough cash lying around
