Hey all, I ordered this from OCUK - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-320-AS

I still have the suspicion that it was used which ****ed me off slightly after spending a grand with them...

Anyway, is the model there just the standard P6T? Looking on the Asus website I'm informed I have version 8 from my registry, yet it only goes up to 0603 on the website.

Am I looking at the wrong board?

Sorry for the thread. I found it it's 0403.

Problem now is their bios update tool wont work with 64bit vista... :/ any ideas?

There are several different P6T boards; that is indeed the standard, vanilla P6T. The latest BIOS version is 0603.

The board might have been used - OCUK are perfectly within their rights to resell used boards if they have been returned as unwanted and therefore are not faulty.

Do not update your BIOS from Windows. Always do it using the Asus utility or your own method pre-OS. There is no need to update anyway if your board functions correctly. I am on 0202 and have no problems.

No they are not. Used and returned ( unused ) are different things.

Any items returned that have been opened and used cannot be sold as brand new items. If the item has been totally unopened then they can, but if its clear that its been opened, tie wraps missing and bags not pristine etc, then its not allowed. Items like this must be sold as B grade.

A quick google will find many articles like this one to have a read of.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...sed-of-selling-used-goods-as-new---again.html

From the article:

"The Trades Descriptions Act and the Sale of Goods Act both say that goods have to be described accurately.

"Even if something is bought and then brought back the next day it is still secondhand," a spokesman for the Department of Trade and Industry said.

A spokesman for the Consumers' Association said: "It should be very clear what consumers are buying and that they are not being misled."

Hmmm, you see, that's what I thought; it seems logical after all, but there was a spate of 'new' graphics cards being bought a while back and people complaining, and I was told the opposite was true; as long as they worked, they could still be sold as new. If that isn't the case, I'm surprised someone hasn't thrown a particularly large wobbly at OCUK.

Yeah... the box appeared to of been opened previously, was really messy inside, components everywhere etc. Either that or the transport was bumpy ^^

Just flashed bios to 0603, didn't know there was a tool in bios which is nice.

I have my CPU running at 3.6Ghz without ANY changed to power, is that normal?

3600Mhz clock
Core Voltage - 1.264
x 20 Multiplier
180 Bus speed
QPI - 3240Mhz

Memory - 720Mhz
2:8 Ratio
9 9 9 24 1T timings

Sounds OK, might not be stable though. If you have a D0 chip, it will run with less voltage than the original C0s.

I'm running a C0 so the settings might be different, and I've not got round to fully stressing this setup yet so I'm not sure it would be that useful I'm afraid. Not to mention my BIOS version is different as well.
