I need to know ASAP what free prgram i can use to stitch photos together to create a panoramic shot and get a nice result. The reason i need to know ASAP is that im leaving holiday tomorrow and need a program to do it for my Intel based Mac. Thanks in advance, David :)

The Canon Photostitch software that came free with your 350D is very good. It should work fine under Rosetta.

Here's a few examples made with Canon Photostitch. Camera: Canon G3

I always used to use autostitch, although I've managed to confuse it by doing vertical panoramas. Was going to find something else but never got round to it...

I like your photos, did you worry about Nodal Point issues? Or did you just pan your camera on a tripod? I've just bought a qvtr panorama bracket and levelling table which should correct any Nodal Point issues. But it would seem that many good (great!) panorama shots displayed here on these forums are taken direct from a tripod or a tree stump? I think I've got photo stitch which came with my Cannon A70. Panzer, on another thread recommended panorama factory software.

Oh, and I forgot to add, unlike Eric Morecame, I can't see the join!! :)

I'd be interested to know how many photos you stitched together and did you as one subscriber said take them in Portrait or Lanscape Mode?

the number of photos used is above each shot - 6, 4, and 6 respectively

I would guess that the difference in aspect ratio between the 6's and the 4 shows they were all done in portrait though I could be wrong

Thanx, I am a bit dyslexic but I should have noticed!

They were in landscape orientation. The different widths of the panoramics is just due to how much I overlapped each photo.

A few tips:
- Pivot using a tripod, ensure the camera pitch is level
- Set the exporsure manually to ensure consitency
- Overlap the photos by about 1/3
- Also, try to get a landmark (tree, rock, car etc.) in the overlapping area.

The only really decent one I've done so far (autostitch):

There's still some ghosting I have to remove when I get round to it.

Where is that? Is that Canary Wharf in the background?

Greenwich park - from the observatory. It is indeed Canary Wharf. Full size version is about 56Mb and 21,000 pixels across :)

I used Photostitch a few times before, but found it's not very good at stitching together close range photos (like in a room or building), so I generally just stitch em together myself in Photoshop. That was several years ago though, newer version might be better now. Here's a couple of mine...
