Hi guys looking at upgrading my ram to a pc4000 2gb dual chan kit, and after seeing some of the clocks people are getting with the crucial ballistix kits i'm very tempted to get them? however the mushkin are meant to be awesome but i'm not sure how high they clock? also the g.skill apparently bail out at 250mhz?

any info would be handy

OCZ Platinum PC4000EB :). Mine do 2-3-2-5 1T @ 200mhz and have memtested for 8 hours on 270mhz 3-3-2-5 1T all with 2.68v.

nice smids, what would be better would you say, running tighter timings and not running 1:1 with cpu or using slacker timings raising mhz and running 1:1?

It really is tight between the two. Timings are more important on an A64 as bandwidth doesn't play so much of a role however, if you can u the FSB very high whilst maintaining decent timings, then there will be less difference. I chose this RAM as it can do both and I can pick and choose depending on the clock. They will run 270 as I have said but at very good timings for 2GB so I could run this instead. I currently run 3-3-2-5 260mhz though, just as it was easier and I didn't have to fiddle with multipliers but it all depends on the chip. I could just use the 11x multi of my chip and use say 237mhz at good timings, but I just haven't bothered testing yet.
