What photoshop effects?

Most seem to be straight forward using lighting to get the shot. Some have that washed out effect that seems to be a trend at the moment, but in the main it just looks like level tweaks on a decent photo to begin with.

If you look through the wedding photos thread, you'll see the effect I'm talking about used quite extensively.

It's a great Photographer who knows how to use their camera, lenses, available light and flash to get exactly the right kind of image they want, as well as poses out of their models.

The post-processing work here of course enhances it, but you aren't going to achieve what the Photographer has done without a great shot to begin with. There isn't a do it all plugin which is going to give that look.

V true, my images that I am planning to use are v similar in nature and style just wanted to know if some better plugins that Iam currently using.

It's tempting to get lost in plugins, etc from other people, or on free sites. I found using Lightroom was liberating as it moved me away from that way of thinking as it focuses on minimal editing of the image. For me it helped highlight what I was doing wrong so I could concentrate on that rather than use a setting to edit/amend the issue.
