if i remember correctly

i'm not going to say anything more in this thread because tbh i dont know much about phsyx and what kind of cards it needs, i'll leave it to someone else because i'd hate for you to do something and then find out it wont work or there's a much better alternative, sorry.

Maybe if you look at the system requirements for Mafia two it will give you an indication of the power requirements for the physx card.

As your a power user here are the system requirments for High physc:

"Video Cards and resolution: APEX High settings

Minimum: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 (or better) and a dedicated NVIDIA 9800GTX (or better) for PhysX
Recommended: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 for Graphics and a dedicated NVIDIA GTX 285 (or better) for PhysX NVIDIA GPU driver: 197.13 or later. NVIDIA PhysX driver: 10.04.02_9.10.0522. Included"

In that case, keep an eye out on ebay and if you have access then the MM too for a 9800+ or better, probably a 260 to get reasonable results.

thanks for that got it on steam so i dont think it shows you that. so i need a 285 or better. didnt think it would need something like that

I found a dedicated GTX260 gives reasonable PhysX performance, prolly could get away with a 8800GT or similiar tho.

Why even bother with FizzX in the first place ?
What took you so long? Was expecting someone like you to storm in here and post EXACTLY what you posted now on the first reply :p

Getting a cheap Nvidia card for PhysX is no more ridiculous than people spending a fortune on high-end graphic set up such as SLI/Crossfire high-end cards for the sake of a few demanding games, when 95%+ of the games are console ports.

At least I can count the amount of "demanding games" out there on more than one hand :P

What took you so long ? I have been waiting for someone to make a weak attempt to justify, wasting a perfectly good GPU on FizzX.

IMO you are better off without FizzX, but if you must have one card bumbling away, I believe the recommended card to run the FizzX efectX in Maffia 2 is a GTX285 :p
