I'm looking to start a gaming community with my friend but don't really know what platform to run the site off..
I don't want any phpnuke sites..
Could you suggest some platforms that would work well?
I like the look of some flash templates around, but I'm guessing it would be easier creating the site within the php department?
Andy info/advice would be appreciated!
Thanks

Hey there Ihave just loocked in my cPanel and noticed Ihave these platforms available

Drupal
Geeklog
Joomla
Mambo Open Source
PHP-Nuke
phpWCMS
phpWebSite
Post-Nuke
Siteframe
TYPO3
Xoops

This joomla looks cool from the demo, do you recommend it over the ones stated above?? I don't want phpnuke etc as its plastered over 80% of clan websites etc and I'm not making a clan website really

I use Joomla for different projects at work, and my personal site is powered by it so naturally that's the one I would recommend. Drupal is very robust and powerful (I think one of NASAs sites uses it, which is cool!), but it's a little harder to get to grips with. PHPnuke sites all look the same to me, but I don't really know how powerful and versatile it is. Let me know if you do decide to go for Joomla and you need any help getting things going. If you have any site templates I should be able to help you get running with Joomla.

Nice one mate! you got msn??
