What possible gain was there from doing this

Glad this was a great source of amusement for some of you, feel free to pop into the kitchen and poor yourselves a nice pint of thick bleach!

Why would anyone want to take half a cat to the vets? I wouldn't even touch it!!! Ewwwww.

I hate cats too but how was it cut in half? Could it have been an accident somemeehow?

It's a sick world nowadays. There was a story in the news a few months ago about a family dog from essex. A group of people had dunked it's head in a bucket of acid until it burned away all the flesh on it's face and died. They then dumped it on their doorstep.

Disgusting. Just been reading that and all of the previous animal cruelty links on there, and I honestly don't understand how they can possibly do it without feeling even the slightest bit of guilt and disgust at themselves. Scum.

Its acts such as this which will always mean I have a house cat! What possible gain was there from such a cruel unnecessary act. I guess this haunts me even more so, as one of my cats is called Milo and hes almost a spitting image of the cat in the link.

Haunts you? Grow a pair. :p

Having said that, is very sad there are such individuals who have no regards for the owners feelings. :(

edit: Just spotted you can get fined £20,000 and or a 6 month jail sentence for unnecessary pain to an animal?

So that it could be microchip scanned, and the unfortunate owner informed?

Stihl saw? Axe?

Plenty of twisted people around.... that may look normal when you pass them on the street.

Poor moggy. Still, I wouldnt stop my cats from going outside just because there's a few wierdos around - they're far more likely to get killed by a car, like our first cat was. :(

It actually serves as a great warning to the police.

This unfortunately happened to our first family cat when I lived in London. It went missing, and it was later found as a body, a head, four legs and a tail. Disturbing to say the least, but when we informed the police about it, they were extremely interested in the case, as apparently this is how serial killers start off (work your way up from cats through maybe other animals up to humans).

Is it wrong to suggest that anyone who carries out such acts of cruelty should have the exact same occur to them as punishment?

Since they only found half the cat, i'm going to go with the answer, half a cat.

I'm going to hell :(

Maybe the mentally ill?
